Lustre Firing

• We conduct monthly lustre firings for interested members

• This firing is compatible with gold, silver and mother of pearl lustre as well as overglaze decals within the 017-019 cone range

• Members must purchase their own cone 017-019 lustre product which can be found at most pottery supply stores such as Plainsman, Sounding Stone and PSH

• Lustre application should be done only on glazed areas about 12-24 hours in advance to a firing so that it has time to dry fully

• Either apply outdoors or our glaze room has an exhaust fan which can be used when applying lustre to better vent the area. Ask a technician to show you where this is located. It’s also recommended to wear a respirator!!
